The Mythic Role of Space Fiction
Revised version of my acceptance speech for the 1990 Phoenix Award.

The Beckoning Trail
from Universe Ahead
(Atheneum, 1975)

Perspective on the Future: The Quest of Space Age Young People
Published in 1972 but still relevant.

Timescape
from Anywhere, Anywhen
(Atheneum, 1976)

Relating Past and Future in Fiction
for Young People

Based on another speech I gave about science fiction for children.

Tranquility
Written in early 1957 but unpublished, and now outdated (but interesting...)

On Writing
An invited contribution to Critique Magazine's "On Writing III" that explains why I haven't written more novels.

The Benefits of Computer Conferencing
Published in 1985 in Netweaver, the electronic magazine of the Electronic Networking Association, a pre-Internet organization for people involved in conferencing on various separate systems. (At that time I was active in Participate on The Source.) It is even more relevant today because far more people are online--now we take the benefits for granted!
The Evolutionary Significance of the Metanormal
Published in 1993; contains my view of paranormal abilities.
